Surface setting de-activator, in water solution, ready to use; based on polysaccharides, specific catalysts and anti-foaming agents, it allows to inhibit the hydration reaction of specific binders and to slow down the setting speed, only for a surface layer of a few millimetres, without altering in any way the performance characteristics of the paving in stabilized earth.The active ingredient of STABILWASH is mainly represented by a sodium salt of gluconic acid, otherwise also known as "sodium gluconate" which, obtained by fermentation of glucose, forms stable chelates with different metals, especially in water/cement type alkaline solutions.The sodium salt of gluconic acid, which is the main active component of STABILWASH, is a compound of natural origin, biodegradable (up to 98% after 2 days), free from toxicity, risk of sensitization and irritant effects, usually used in products intended for contact with the epidermis, such as face and body creams, shampoos, conditioners, soaps, make-up products. etc. and, in many versions, as a food additive for the regulation of acidity.STABILWASH is not a specific maturing product.Its action is aimed at prolonging the first phase of hydration of the specific binder, characterized by the formation of a "gel", which is temporarily waterproof.It can, therefore, be argued that the presence on the surface of the conglomerate, of a gel capable of opposing a rapid evaporation, of the water of the mixture, performs an effective curing action.The fact that STABILWASH is then removed, in order to highlight the conglomerate's superficial aggregates, does not alter the positive evaluation of the curing action.

The aesthetic effect is significantly influenced by the depth of removal of the cortical layer of stabilized earth.To obtain results of one's own liking, it is advisable to carry out preliminary tests with the materials and in the working conditions that will characterize the processing.The retarding times and the thickness of the washing depend on several factors such as the type of binder, the quantity of binder, the water/cement ratio, the environment temperature, the ventilation etc.Carry out the hydro-washing phase within 24 h from the day of construction of the paving; an excessive wait could compromise the effectiveness of the inhibition and therefore not allow the correct success of the "washed earth" effect.NOTE: Summer thermal conditions may affect the duration of the permissible waiting period before the hydro-washing removal of the surface of the finished paving.To reduce the effects mentioned, it is possible to resort to moderate overdoses of the applied product (after appropriate preliminary tests).
