Characteristics

SMERALD PISCINE is a special mixture of polyurethane-acrylate Teflon coated resins, in aqueous emulsion, particularly resistant to light, water, chlorine and the usual sanitising agents. Modified with unalterable high coverage pigments and special additives, effectively protected against UV radiation, assisted by peculiar radical catchers, it is characterised by high adhesion to the support, high elastic performance, excellent coverage capacity with only two coats of application, and absolute absence of toxic solvents of any kind.

Consumption

Apply from 0.30 to 0.40 liters of SMERALD PISCINE per square metre of surface to be painted.

Use fields

Specially formulated for painting pools, ornamental basins, channels, fountains, ponds, tanks, and any cement support strongly and permanently in contact with water.

Preparation of supports

The surfaces of application should be clean, free of any soiling, crumbling and non-adhering parts, or non-absorbent, dust, pre-existing paints, etc.

Use method

SMERALD PISCINE can be applied by brush, roller or airless (membrane type) with nozzle 1.5 -2 mm in diameter. Always use two coats, with intervals of at least 2/4 hours one from the other, for a consumption not less than 200 g/m² per coat (approximately 450 g/m² total consumption). During spreading, if the product needs it, it can be diluted exclusively with water, not exceeding the dilution of 5%-10% by weight of the product. Do not dilute with solvent.

Carry out the application in good weather conditions with temperatures higher than 5-8 °C, for rapid drying. On large surfaces it is recommended to apply the product from the same production lot. Proceed always wet on wet to avoid signs of resumption.

Warnings, precautions and Ecology

As for all products made from resins in aqueous emulsion, to avoid defects in filming, the application temperature must be between +5°C and +35°C with relative humidity not exceeding 60%-70%. The application should be avoided in case of direct exposure to sunlight and significant ventilation.

The specified consumption must be respected (use 1 kg of product to pigment maximum 2.5 m² surface!). If the applied amount is less than the recommended minimum, the polymerization process (which makes it elastic adhesive and painting) would be compromised.
