The anti-corrosive effectiveness of REPAR MONOSTEEL results from the high alkalinity and from the superpozzolanic reactivity of components. The specific corrosion inhibitor contained in the compound (DCI - Corrosion Inhibitor Agrèment Certificate BBA** n.96/3232), conforming to the standard UNI 9747, is based on a reaction which is capable of making unavailable the ferrous ions for the supply of the electrochemical processes of corrosion. The polymeric components of REPAR MONOSTEEL also determine further increases in the effectiveness against corrosion, especially vis-à-vis the aggressive attacks arising from chlorides and sulphates. (BBA = British Board of Agrèment).

From 0.02 to 0.07 kg of REPAR MONOSTEEL for each linear metre of steel bar to be treated.
2,0 kg of REPAR MONOSTEEL for each square metre of suface to be treated.

Use fields

Passivating protection treatments of the reinforcement rods in interventions of restoration of works and articles in reinforced concrete, in marine, mountain and industrial environments. Application as a protective coating of iron and steel walls for protection against corrosion and oxidation.

Preparation of supports

Carefully remove non-adhering rust, present on the metal surfaces of the exposed reinforcement rods by blasting or deep brushing, until the following condition is reached: "almost white metal" (metal colour as if it has just come out of extrusion). For applications as a protective coating, scratch the substrate mechanically or with sandblasting in order to eliminate as much rust as possible and immediately apply REPAR MoNOSTEEL on the treated surface.

Use method

Pour about half a litre of water into a bucket, add REPAR MONOSTEEL and additional water necessary for achieving a fluid, dense, brushable consistency. Continue mixing until a homogeneous lump-free mixture is obtained. Apply by brush on the surfaces of the previously prepared reinforcement rods or panels.

Application methods

- Brush

Tool cleaning

- Water

Permitted supports

- Concrete

- Rusty reinforcement rods

Warnings, precautions and Ecology

The overflow of the product on the concrete adjacent to the treated rids does not entail any problem.
