Mono-component microemulsion for low pressure chemical barriers

Code: CSX.0025

Components: 1

Appearance: Liquid

Aqueous, water repellent microemulsion based on low molecular weight silane monomers, free from polluting solvents and reaction by-products, characterised by very high penetration and considerable reinforcing, protective effectiveness. It does not involve alterations in colour, appearance and breathability of the masonry structure. Suitable for forming horizontal chemical barriers against rising damp, free from awkward reaction waiting times.

From 0.12 to 0.15 litres of CONSILEX MAUER MONO per linear metre of 10 cm thick masonry. Calculate the consumption in proportion to the thickness of the masonry to be restored.

Use fields

Forming horizontal chemical barriers against rising damp, free from awkward reaction waiting times. Deep water repellent, breathable treatment of external walls and porous mineral products: natural stones, bricks, tufa, limestones, conglomerates, plasters for external walls with mineral paints etc.

Preparation of supports

Remove the existing plaster, only if necessary, up to at least one metre above the line of evident damp

Draw a line parallel to the outside kerb or inside flooring, at a distance of about 10-15 cm from the same. Prepare drilling points at 12 cm distance from one another on the traced line. The inclination of the holes should be about 20° down. The depth of the holes should be approximately 4/5 the thickness of the wall to inject. The drill bit to be used must have a diameter of 18-20 mm. Once the holes are finished, the dust produced by drilling is required to be eliminated.

Use method

Pour CONSILEX MAUER MONO in a container containing clean water up to a dilution not exceeding 21 times (it is recommended to dilute at a ratio of 1:18). Mix with a high-speed drill for 5 minutes until the initially turbid and cloudy solution becomes clear. Using the final microemulsion thus prepared, proceed with low pressure injections by airless pump (manual or electric), directly into the designated holes in the masonry.

Consumption may vary depending on the characteristics of the masonry and its thickness. By way of example, for 40 cm thick masonry, the indicative consumption of the aqueous solution is between 5 and 8 l/m.
Manual mixing of the product is absolutely excluded as it is inappropriate for forming the emulsion. It is therefore necessary to operate only with high-speed drill for not less than 5 minutes.
Flammable product; keep away from open flames, heat sources etc.
